Hi Neil, i only just read the travel blog piece relating to the Jammin Java in Vienna, Virginia in 2010. I was there and was one of those that reminisced with you afterwards about the brilliant Grimms concerts, with you, Scaffold, Zoot Money, Bryan Patten, Andy Roberts and others. Well, I saw you at the Jazz Cafe last Sunday along with Police Dog Hogan. A fun evening but I felt for you over the rude element of the audience that kept talking during your set. Was disappointed to hear you mention that you just played a Rutles concert in Camden, as I missed it!

Hi Neil. Quite a while back while serving in the military I was in the U.S. Air Force and assigned to serve at two RAF bases in East Anglia during the 1970's. I arrived there in '73 and that's when The Bonzo Dog Band album Let's Make Up And Be Friendly was released. The first track I ever heard was Slush. The track was so unusual and I was so intrigued that I wanted to hear more and started collecting everything I could get by The Bonzo Dog Band. And since, I've also collected the solo stuff each band member went on to record. So now I have a vast collection of songs which I use and listen to as my playlist as I make frequent long road trips all of the time. Did you or anyone else ever fathom how incredibly amazing the stuff you guys did and put out on record? I mean, it's a body of work unlike anything anyone else could ever imagine or make up. Neil. You guys were geniuses. Oh, sorry, it's 2015 and you are still around so I guess you still are a genius. Anyhow, thanks for the great music, the humour and the talent and everything else. Every so often a friend of mine will hear a song by you guys and they are always intrigued just like I was all those years ago, and they always want to hear more. Happy New Year. Give your lovely wife a hug and a squeeze for me. please. thank you.

Dear Neil,
Thanks for the lovely signed 'with compliments' slip you included with your Innes - Own World - Best Bits parts 1 & 2. Perhaps you will allow me to reciprocate with a song about a bird called Doris(Tone747 on - a song about which Julian Chagrin, out of sheer curiosity [yeh, right!], commenced a lengthy correspondence with me from Israel (surprising for a mime artist!).
By the way, I saw you at the Maltings, Farnham with my wife - she was very impressed - a rare occurrence.
Love Tone.

Mr. Innes, thank you so much for the Rutles recordings that you did. I was listening to Archaeology again last week and I realized that after so many years of wishing the Beatles could record more new songs this is really the closest thing. Even though it was done with humor, it was done with very talented songwriting. Thank you again for that great gift.

Has it really been been 3 years since we last saw you in the U.S.? SHOCKING!

Hope The Rut-A-Live Tour went well. Nice to see Mr.Thornton doing SOMETHING with his copious amounts of sparetime! ( Well , besides just practicing playing the songs. ). Will have to order the c.d. to find out how it all turned out!

Was and Have been saddened that the OTHER bastard band of idiots has denied you. ( Well ... one in particular anyways ... what bullshittery. ). Couldn't be bothered to attend live nor in a cinema.

Somedays , I wish it was 1976 and everyone was still playing nice!

C'est la merde.

Hope alls well otherwise , dear boy , and you and the missus are well , and enjoying life in general in "Jolly Olde".
Mr. Innes, have a wonderful may tour with your Fab Four group. I came across this on you tube and I thought of you. Maybe it's the same record player from Innes Book of Records!

Thanks for an absolutely fab night at the rather sparsely attended Farnham Maltings last Friday. A truly epic night, made even better by "Slaves of DFreedom" and "Sir Robin's song" Thankyou.
And I only bought my ticket on Friday AM.....!

I can just see re-runs of IBOR becoming a HUGE underground hit (i.e. aired in non-prime-time) leading to a series of NEW prime-time specials!!

Hey - Neil and co. - if you are auditioning voice-actors for the RADIO NOIR project - please contact me. It would be an extreme pleasure to work and play together. :D ciao fer'niao ;)
Could Kickstarter be used to raise some funds to get IBOR released on DVD? Perhaps finally convince the Big British Castle to play nice if the costs are offset a bit?

Just wanted to note that no comments made since May, so thought I'd make one really. In Catalonia on hols., legs covered in huge insect bites and antiseptic cream, hot and bothered. Everyone else having fun by the pool. Cue for a new Innes song perhaps? "The insects that graze on Tone's legs"? Sounds more like a G&S opera number.
p.s. Will you be joining Bill Posters Will any time soon Neil?

Falmouth was fab, Neil and Yvonne.

James and I enjoyed, so much, the privilege of hearing once again your surreal, unique blend of intellectual lunacy and melody! It is so refreshing, in these modern times, to know there is someone out there who happily tears away the ludicrous facade that our media and society would have us swallow unquestioningly and tells things as they really are with wit and astute evaluation.

You are a true troubadour of all those moments in life which happen to us all, whose lyrics standout for their subtle observations of the little things that constitute a lifetime for the everyday man and woman in the street. A kitchen-sink balladeer of life. (That is a compliment by the way!)

Was great to get a copy of the Le Ducks set - thrilled to see "Time to Kill" on there - that was when I first saw you perform, dressed as the WW1 soldier. I was still up after 10pm, far too late for a kiddy growing up in Liverpool and my Dad just happened to have the telly on BBC2... I was caught by that song straight away and the rest is history! Wish you would perform this incredibly moving song again, but I understand some of those notes are quite high - you'll have to wear really tight undies to reach those heady heights of that octave these days, I guess. ;0)

Good Luck with the petition to get IBOR back on TV again - or at least in a full DVD box set of all of the series.

Come back to the South West soon and thanks for signing our bits and pieces. Hope you don't think the frequency of our coming to your performances is 'stalking' territory .... we just know what is good when we see and hear it!

Keep safe,

Kathy and James

Hi Neil
Great show in Falmouth tonight. I knew it would be - but my wife is Australian, and the entire Bonzos, IBOR, RWT, Rutles thing has passed her by completely. Wasn't sure how it would all go down, but she loved it too.

Just bought a red t-shirt from your online shop. I have to say, with tonight's audience, a severe shortage of x-large showed some lack of foresight!

Anyway, thanks for being you (cue cheesy drum roll)...

Hi Neil,

Just received my Le Ducks Box Set. Haven't had chance to listen to it yet but it looks like a excellent package!!!

Also, many thanks for the signed slip inside - adds a very nice personal touch to the set.

Hope to see you on the road soon.

All the Best,

Hey Neil,

Will there be a gig in Manchester/Salford this year? Please bring the Urban Spaceman home!

All the best for the tour.

Just to say again, how brilliant your gig was in Halifax last Thursday. "Shrangri Lah" being my personal highlight. To hear it live blew me away. Your patience in chatting to folk afterwards was much appreciated...other superstars (and you ARE ) don't always make the time for their fans. Venue was superb I felt and the age range of the small but intimate audience shows your universal popularity cannot be "pigeon holed". Top man Neil...thanks again

Hi Neil,

Just wanted to say your songs and idiosyncratic brand of madness have haunted me since I was a kid. The Innes Book of Records was one of the highlights of TV back then. Glad to see you're thriving.
